Do you remember the first time you smoked a blunt? Have you ever wondered what it would feel like? Well if either of your answers are yes. Wet Blunt Confessions is a young man’s journey to smoking his first blunt…
We all have that one friend that still has our parents’ ratings, although they’ve sold their souls long time to the world. Malik was that guy, telling my folks I was going to Malik’s place was like saying I was at my Grandma’s.
Malik was the perfect guy, he seemed to have his whole act together, always moved around with his tools, he was a neat smoker as well, and I never saw man like Malik mixing up his identity. A lady magnet as well, so we might just get lucky with some squad privileges, might just have a few sisters come through.
Malik had his flaws, but nothing I could not handle. I’ve also noticed high folks tend to have this random purge of fake love. I’ve seen random folks just bond over a blunt and start throwing up that “I’m going to miss you bro” or “I love you bro”, and I’m like umm okay. So if something of that nature is going to happen then I’ll rather have that moment with Malik, we go way back.
Everything was falling in place. I’m struggling to not say “D day“. But as a matter of fact it was “The day” I unlocked the next realm
I had a little secret that was going to be my nemesis, okay, maybe I’ve not been honest enough. I’ll start with myself; you see I’m the type you term a selective bad boy.
This goes way back, I’m a bad boy by association, from those parked smoking sessions. I always knew my uncle was moving silly, I never saw the need to snitch. So you see, I’m by default one leg in and the other leg out. That’s what you call a selective bad boy. I had countless opportunities to rat out my uncle, but I kept it 100, real nigga shiii.
Malik never knew I’d never hit a blunt before, they see me do all these other bad boy things, but no one ever believed I’d never tried weed, I always stayed in character. I never saw the need to tell him.
I’m not trying to get pity high, and I notice veterans tend to pay more attention than needed to the newly high guy.
Even when you are not so high, they find you entertaining. And I’m not about that type of folly. Paying attention to someone’s high will only leave you questioning how high you might be which is Fatal.
So Friday night, I called man like Malik like “yo, wagwan, we should link up“
Malik – “yeah FAM, it’s been a minute, we should. Wyd tomorrow evening? Come to my place lets burn some green“
This is the best thing about Malik, always in character and straight to the point. That burn some green had my cannabinoid receptors all sprung up. Like YO! We are doing this, “getting some cannabis inna mi system” Rasta man for life.
I made my way to Malik’s end just early enough, 5pm ish. Stopped by at a supermarket to get munchies, had to grab some soda and bread for the culture. Wafers and some pies as well.
We were seated watching MTV base, they had some Rihanna playlist going on. All the forces on God’s green earth were clearly rooting for me. Can’t be coincidence that MTV decided to focus on Rihanna, it felt divinely orchestrated.
He took his time, there was no rush whatsoever, but I was a bit excited, like let’s get this thing rolling. I’d anticipated this for way too long, that occasional wide smile still revealed up. Malik definitely noticed I was moving weird. I gave him 30 minutes, hoping to see some of that ganja already on the table.
He’s like, “oh, I’m waiting for my dealer, he’ll be here in a few”,
I quickly jumped in, “oh that’s calm, my dealer bailed on me, I should’ve brought some.”
I’m not trying to blow my cover, while we waited for his dealer; I surfed through some cannabis emergency websites just to know what to do in case I find myself on a perspiration ting. I hear anxiety and paranoia could be side effects.
After an hour, we heard a hard knock on the door, finally the dealer! I could not contain my excitement, I rushed to the door, I opened the door and I saw no one. I looked around and I saw no sign of any human.
“Yo, did you not hear a knock on the door”
“Of course I did mahn”, Malik confirmed, I was trying to be sure I was not having any pre-high jittering.
I shut the door, and I sat down, after a beat, I heard another hard knock, this time with a pattern. Malik reached for the door, his wide frame masked the person knocking, I could not see who it was, they kept laughing in a low pitched voice.
I could not be bothered, whatever they had going on, I just wanted to get high. I quickly rushed to kitchen to get some water and maybe give them some privacy. After spending 10 minutes in the kitchen pretending to be drinking water, I got back to see the most heartbreaking thing ever…
